Aramex offers a Job Opportunity as a Junior Legal Counsel in Jordan.
Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Establishing best practices within the company in all matters related to commercial contracts, including applicable laws, agreements, and regulations.
- Drafting, reviewing, and managing a variety of agreements on a global scale such as non-disclosure agreements, amendments, local contracts, master agreements, terms and conditions, tender documents, termination notices, letters of award, and any other requests related to commercial contracts.
- Lead contract negotiations to achieve the best possible outcome from a legal perspective for all global commercial client contracts and any other related contracts.
- Manage and maintain all record keeping for global commercial clients' contracts and related documentation.
- Work closely with global and regional stakeholders such as regional finance, legal, commercial, operations, insurance, compliance, tax, and any other departments necessary to successfully execute contracts.
- Coordinating and advising senior stakeholders on business risks based on business decisions and proposing appropriate business solutions.
- Ability to review standard terms and conditions and highlight key areas of interest for the business.
- You will form part of the task force tasked with drafting, maintaining, updating, and using Aramex's global models by regional legal teams.
- Ensure that the new services fall within the applicable business unit's trade license and that the company adheres to local law.

Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree in the field of law.
- Certificate of practicing the legal profession.
- At least 4 years of experience either in a position related to commercial contracts, as an internal legal assistant, or in the legal procurement department.
- Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts.
- You must be creative and strategic, proactive and innovative in solving problems affecting stakeholders.
- Flexibility and comfort with change, great attention to detail while adhering to tight deadlines, and strong organizational skills.
- Proven negotiation skills, and comfort in dealing with all levels of the organization.
- Organizational, implementation, and project management skills.
- A proactive approach to identifying needs, anticipating, and resolving problems.
- Ability to handle large volumes of contracts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and LexisNexis.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Strong customer focus and teamwork.
- Previous experience in logistics and transportation is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build strong professional business relationships.
