Duties & responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Provide hardware and software support to users of desktop PC equipment. Escalate issues as necessary to System Administrators.
- To respond with the appropriate degree of urgency to problems and requests from the Help Desk for user support.
- Maintain the update asset inventory system.
- To ensure the functionality and accessibility of all peripherals ( such as scanners, desktops, and printers ) plus hand-help units.
- Monitor day-to-day all aspects of the system security as per DHL IS security Standards. Make immediate escalation/action as necessary to prevent a breach of security or loss Of information.
- To maintain hardware and resolve problems either through personal action or by organizing resolution through a third party.
- To roll out Hubs & Gateways applications (SCL, IAS, CIA, DCE, ACA) and migrate from potential local solutions.
- Standardization and optimization of processing quality within Bahrain Aviation, Hub & Gateway.
- To support business growth by providing market leading IS tools, process while reducing unit costs.
- To ensure all IT related systems & peripherals are implemented with the minimum disruption to the business.
- Ensure that all IT services are delivered according to Service Level Agreements with the business managers.
- Ensure that Hub’s & Gateways complies with the Security standards as described in the Information Asset Security Standards.
- Review technological advances in the industry with the purpose to be able to provide the company the most cost-effective solution and the customer a premium service to enhance DHL’s position in the marketplace.
- Support needs to cover 365/24/7.
Eligibility criteria
You must have:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent to it.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in support position.
- DHL product/services knowledge.
- Written & spoken communication skills.
- Ability to apply principles of persuasion and/or influence over others in supervisory capacity.
- Exercising judgment in determining time, place and/or sequence of operations.
- Fluent in Written and spoken English.
- Arabic speaking or other languages an advantage.
