AMF is offering a job opportunity in Abu Dhabi, UAE as a Financial Sector Specialist - Financial Markets. 

Duties & responsibilities

  1. Contributing to the realization of the fund's strategy, especially with regard to developing programs and initiatives of the financial, monetary and banking sector and enhancing the environment of modern financial technologies and digital financial services.
  2. Following up the activities of initiatives to develop the financial sector in the Arab countries, especially aspects related to digital financial services, modern financial technologies and the digital economy.
  3. Preparing programs to provide technical support to Arab countries in the field of developing modern technologies for the financial and banking sector and the digital infrastructure of the financial system.
  4. Implementation of various programs and activities concerned with the development of the financial sector in cooperation with international institutions.
  5. Providing advanced training courses for workers in the regulatory and supervisory bodies in the Arab countries on strengthening supervision of developments in modern financial technologies and digital financial services.
  6. Participating in the work of the various committees and work teams to which the Fund contributes within the framework of its tasks, such as the Modern Financial Technologies Working Group, the Payment Systems Committee, the Financial Inclusion Working Group, and the Financial Stability Working Group.
  7. Implementing the initiatives of modern financial technologies, digital financial inclusion, and the digital economy within the Fund's tasks.
  8. Preparing research, studies and various events carried out by the Fund within the framework of its tasks.
  9. Developing supervisory skills through training courses directed to member states in the fields of modern financial technology developments.

Eligibility criteria

  1. Citizens of Arab countries.
  2. PhD from a recognized university in the fields of economics, finance, or other similar specializations.
  3. Distinguished experience in similar fields of work within four years in central banks, institutions concerned with digital financial services, or regional or international financial institutions.
  4. Comprehensive knowledge of standards, principles, research and studies issued by international financial institutions, such as the Bank for International Settlements, the Financial Stability Board, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, the Islamic Financial Services Board, and the Financial Stability Institute.
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of the concepts of modern financial technologies and digital financial services such as digital transformation, digital identity, electronic know-your-customer rules and due diligence procedures, digital payment systems, digital financial services, decentralized ledger applications (DLT) in the financial sector, artificial intelligence in the financial sector, and cyber security / resilience).
  6. Comprehensive knowledge of relevant international standards, regulations and legislation of activities that fall under modern financial technologies worldwide.
  7. Comprehensive knowledge of risk management of modern financial technologies.
  8. Comprehensive knowledge of the system of financial and banking legislation and the infrastructure of the digital financial system in the Arab countries.
  9. Recent research and studies published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  10. Proficiency in both Arabic and English languages, complete proficiency in speaking and writing is a prerequisite, and knowledge of the French language is helpful.
