Opportunity description
Broccoli is seeking a professional, motivated and creative International intern to join the team as soon as possible. Based in Amman, Jordan, the intern will provide support to PSI’s business development under the supervision of the Executive Director. The internship offers an excellent opportunity for interns to develop professional skills in advance practical research and development. Interns must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) and must commit for at least 3 months.
Duties & responsibilities
- Assist with high-quality English language draft and reviews for donor reports, project evaluations, and midline and end line assessments.
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals.
- Translate documents as needed from English to Arabic and vice versa.
- Assist with online communication updates, including visibility pieces for social media, compiling success stories, and staff reflections/interviews.
- Provide general logistical support as required including support for trainings, special events and visits for international guests and staff.
- Travel inside the country to provide support to field activities when needed.
- Perform other supportive duties as needed.
Eligibility criteria
- BA or MA (completed or in progress) in international relations, political science, Middle East studies, international development or a related field.
- Prior cross-cultural experience.
- Some prior field experience would be considered an asset.
- Creative English report and proposal writing.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills in English, and advanced knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
- Familiarity with the Jordanian context.
- Interest in research and transformations on the politics and societies of the Middle East.
- Ability to live in Amman, Jordan.
- Comfort in cross-cultural contexts.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, creativity, and enthusiasm while working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure with strong attention to details.
- Excellent computer skills (including Word, Excel and Power point).
