Chalhoub group offers a job opportunity in Bahrain to work as a senior accountant (Reporting& Closing). The senior accountant will plan and direct all accounting activities for the designated business units.

Eligibility:

You must have:

  • From 3 to 5 years of prior experience, and proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting.
  • Drive, entrepreneurship and adaptability.

  • Financial analysis and benchmarking knowledge.
  • Planning, forecasting & budgeting skills.

  • Internal control & risk management knowledge.

Your Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of:

  1. Ensure adherence to accounting standards and enforce them during audits of billing, payroll, inventories, payable and receivables.
  2. Oversee the preparation of budgets.
  3. Plan, manage, coordinate and implement the year end closing processing for the assigned accounting records.
  4. Provide technical accounting support and interpretation to the business units.
  5. Ensure that all suppliers accounts are fully reconciled.
  6. Oversee the verification and reconciliation for invoices, receipts and balances.
  7. Reconcile all accounts and financial records of the business units.
  8. Ensure that bank reconciliations are verified on a timely basis and adequate to prevent any fraud or inaccuracies.
  9. Is responsible for the preparation of inter-company reconciliations and the resolution of outstanding items.
  10. Ensure maintaining the accounting and financial records of the related business units.
  11. Oversee the preparation and manage annual and multi-year budgets and business plans.
  12. Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records.
  13. Ensure that monthly management reports highlight variances from budgets and that budgets forecasts are updated periodically.
  14. Support in cash management, banking, vendor relationships and implementation of the ERP system.
  15. Liaise with HR on the financial and timely payment arrangements for the monthly payroll.
  16. Coordinate on external audit.
  17. Interact with IT in the implementation of system enhancements and improvements.
  18. Support in cash management, banking, vendor relationships and implementation of the ERP system.
  19. Accurate accounting and ensure adequate internal control in cash collection and banking.
  20. Assist in ensuring cash & treasury management.
  21. Oversee the preparation of monthly management report s and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including budget vs. actual variance reports.
  22. Develop, monitor, control, report and analyze budgets and implement any budget tool.
  23. Prepare budgets, revisions and Tableaux de Bord for the whole activity.
  24. Participate in cost analyses and rate studies.
  25. Provide a comprehensive financial, accounting advice services and various reports and statements to business unit managers.
  26. Prepare variety of studies, reports and related information and interpretation to the management for decision making purposes.
