Opportunity description

The Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism, and Migration (CHRM2) at the University of Jember is offering an internship opportunity or an internship for the following potential positions:

  • Language or Content Editor for the Journal of Southeast Asian Human Rights (JSEAHR).
  • English teacher at the University of Jember.
  • Graphic Designer.
  • Public Relations.
  • Outreach Coordinator.
  • Field Researcher.
  • Research Assistant.

duration: Minimum three months with options to extend position for one year.

Requirements

  1. Undergraduate or master’s degree students are eligible to apply. (or work equivalent).
  2. Academic or work history demonstrating interest in human rights, multiculturalism, and/or migration.
  3. Fluency in English (should provide evidence of English writing skills. TOEFL/IELTS scores not required but can be a means of proof).
  4. Indonesian language is not required but is a plus (opportunities for language classes at the University of Jember are available).
  5. Applicants are expected to demonstrate commitment, leadership, initiative and flexibility.

  2. Short Personal Statement (written in English) Maximum 500 words and should reflect your desire to work at CHRM2 and your position interest.
  3. Proof of English Language Proficiency for non-Native Speakers (Official test scores or short writing sample).

About Organization

The Centre for Human Rights, Multiculturalism, and Migration (CHRM2) is a research centre established in 2016 with the ultimate aim to develop multidisciplinary studies at the University of Jember. The establishment of CHRM2 is part of the University of Jember’s strategic Centres within Southeast Asia to promote research and collaboration in the specialised areas of human rights with cognate disciplines. The centre´s vision is to boost the strength of the University of Jember to become a leading, global university centred in Southeast Asia. Through rigorous research and collaboration, the center attempts to transform the way we think of acquiring knowledge in this rapid globalizing world; a knowledge that meets the ideals of justice and the standards of human rights. In order to succeed, They conduct an annual international conference by inviting world-renowned professors, practitioners, and policymakers. In addition, They also publish scholarly articles in the Journal of Southeast Asian Human Rights (JSEAHR).
