Allianz is offering a job opportunity in Germany as a full-time Accountant, to work at its Global Finance department in its office in Frankfurt. This is an exciting and ambitious role for an experienced accountant encompassing both operational processing, projects and a broad spectrum of finance responsibilities.
This role reports to the Head of Revenues & Expenses EMEA.
Required qualifications:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field of study with very operational accounting experience
- Qualified chartered accountant or equivalent (with HGB and IFRS) preferred
- Profound knowledge of accounting software (SAP), strong Excel skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbally and written proficiency in English and German), self-motivated, independent and positive teammate, stress resilient and dedication to quality assured work
- Motivating change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong systems and analytical skills
- Ability to understand big picture views, how tasks are connected as well as dive into detail meticulously
- Strong quantitative and versatile problem solving and multi-tasking skills
- Sensitivity to culture norms and differences and a pro-active teammate
- Proven VAT knowledge and experience with cross-border transactions
- Previous experience in Asset Management / Financial service industry is a plus
- A strong treasury background or experience would be favored
- Ability to work with and lead a wide variety of cross-cultural and functional teams would be essential
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and co-ordinate the preparation of statutory and annual reports for different European entities
- Perform validation and controlling of all transactional operational related processes to ensure financial, regulatory and tax accuracy as well as adherence to the outsourced / offshore control framework including Balance Sheet substantiation, Profit & Loss analysis and aged items reconciliation
- Ensure the timeliness, completeness and accuracy in financial statement and group reporting processes
- Prepare and submit regulatory reporting for Bundesbank
- Represent Accounting & Financial Management and support reviews and queries from internal and external auditors, regulatory and tax authorities, customers and 3rd party service providers
- Support and implementation of global / regional projects as well as facilitate or initiate projects to streamline, harmonize and automate existing processes
- To support other internal functions with ad-hoc analysis as well as problem-solving / clarification for the wider business on tax-related and accounting aspects to result in solutions
